In our final week investigating the relationship between the concept of citizenship, we are engaged in student centered investigation that spans five decades of the early 1800's. The idea is to find out what Americans did with their new country and freedom.
The students are using multiple sources to gather information about the Presidents, U.S. involvement in world events, national news, daily life, and popular culture from the 1810's, 1820's, 1830's, 1840's, and 1850's. They are creating interactive and multisensory displays to teach each other from.
So far their work has been solid. I am anticipating a wondrous display of knowledge!
